Week 7

I guess I was getting ahead of myself in the previous posts.  I learned this week that I was considered 6 weeks, even if I was 6 weeks and 2 days.  So today marks my start on week 7!  I took the following from my weekly updates from babycenter.com.

The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point . Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.
If you could see inside your womb, you'd spot eyelid folds partially covering her peepers, which already have some color, as well as the tip of her nose and tiny veins beneath parchment-thin skin. Both hemispheres of your baby's brain are growing, and her liver is churning out red blood cells until her bone marrow forms and takes over this role. She also has an appendix and a pancreas, which will eventually produce the hormone insulin to aid in digestion. A loop in your baby's growing intestines is bulging into her umbilical cord, which now has distinct blood vessels to carry oxygen and nutrients to and from her tiny body.

So a lot of development and growth this week!  I had a small scare this week when I started to very very very faintly spot but after speaking with my dr's nurse she didn't seem all too concerned.  It just makes me more anxious to get to my dr's appt on Feb 8th to actually get that ultrasound and see the little babe with my own eyes to make sure everything is a-ok!  I just have to keep thinking to myself..only 1 more week...only 1 more week...

Im still feeling pretty good, I've noticed that when I first wake up in the morning I feel a little pukey but by the time I get to work and eat some breakfast Im feeling fine :)  I can't tell if Im more tired or not, ha downfalls of having a pretty lazy lifestyle before pregnancy I guess!

Another one down...i think???

So I came to the conclusion today that I really have no idea how far along I am.  Not only because Im basing it off of a date when I definitly did not conceive but I have no idea what counts as weeks being done.  If I'm 6 weeks, 2 days pregnant...does that mean I'm 6 weeks?  I would say I'm 7 because I finished 6 full weeks...right?  I mean would you say you are only 8 months pregnant when you deliver because you didn't actually finish the full 9th month?  Or do we say 9 months because we are actually pregnant for 10?  ugh this is making my head hurt!!

So far I've only received conflicting advice.  I have an app on my phone that says I'm "in" my 7th week and that during this next week the baby will start to grow fingers and a brain.  But babycenter.com says I'm 6 weeks pregnant and repeats what I posted last week about milestones....

So I guess I'll say I finished 6 weeks of being pregnant and thats it...I have something in my stomach that may have fingers or maybe its still just beginning to have a nose, mouth and ears?  And its either the size of a lentil or a bluebery. In anycase something is in there (although sometimes I second guess myself because I lack a lot of the so called "common" symptoms) and its growing.

So heres to the next week...would that be week 7 or 8???

oh yah and GO PACK GO!

Week 5 Done!

With week 5 done and gone now comes for some actual baby development.  The little "thing" in my belly is only a 1/4" long and about the size of a lentil.  Week 6 major developments are a nose, mouth, and ears :) Its finally starting to look like a little baby!

I've been fairly lucky so far concerning sickness.  So far so good except I can definitly tell when its time to eat!  I've been feeling a little more sluggish than usual but often find it hard to sleep through the night due to some stomach cramping etc.

I cannot wait til Feb. 8th.  My FIRST ultra sound and Drs appt.  Im am soooo excited, time seems to be just dragging.
